A resident of St. Thomas since July, 2005. Jennie Eshoo has lived in the Turlock area for 70 years. After her husband died in 1962 she worked at California State University, Stanislaus and was then a teacher's aide at Crowell Elementary School for several years.

Her daughter Alice Pollard, an assistant principal at Turlock High School, encouraged her to come to St. Thomas after a hospital stay. Jennie likes it very much here and appreciates the balance of having a private apartment along with an array of activities, including exercise classes and bible study. She has four children, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Her daughter-in-law, Anna Eshoo, is the United States Congressional Representative for the 14th California Congressional District.

Jennie still has her own car which provides convenient transportation for shopping as well as attending services at nearby St. John's Assyrian Presbyterian Church.
